Preparing to move into your new home

If you are a Stadium tenant moving to another Stadium property you will be expected to allow our surveyor access to your existing home to carry out an assessment to identify repair works needed before it can be let to another family.

Everyone moving home should consider the following:

Who to notify of your change of address?

  • Post office
  • Doctor
  • Your service providers - gas, electricity, water, telephone, cable tv, tv licence, DVLC
  • Banks
  • Schools

Take meter readings and notify service providers such as gas, electricity and water of the date you intend to move and tell them your new address

Make sure that the property is left clear of all your personal belongings and furniture. You could be re-charged the cost of clearance if Stadium has to clear it for you.

If you have had use of a garden, you need to ensure that no rubbish is left behind and that it is left clean and tidy. You could be re-charged the cost of clearance if Stadium has to clear it for you.

When you have vacated the property, ensure that you return two sets of keys to the office by the agreed date. Failure to do so could result in you being charged an additional week’s rent even if your rent was previously paid by Housing Benefit.
